Wow I havent written to you in soooo long!! But after tonight I just had so much to think on..
I sat and talked with my Uncle,Aunt, Cousins and friends for hours...we talked about a range of things, but suddenly I realized that we were on the topic of homosexuality; all the men in the room seemed to be in agreeance that "lesbianism" is ok while men being intimate with other men is completely unacceptable and frowned upon. My question is why?? Society has objectified Women so much; and while trying to preserve the prehistoric image of the male species being dominant they have created this biased ideology! The reasoning given to me was simply........well.......foolish! Is it not possible that the creator made us all different! DIFFERENT not only in ethnicity or linguistics, maybe we are also different in our sexual preference!
Diversity should be accepted in all aspects of our lives...
Think About This: Since the most popular argument people have against homosexuality is that homosexual couples are unable to reproduce so it must be wrong. Consider this The world is overpopulated now, imagine if every single person and or couple was able to reproduce. It would be a DISASTER! Maybe this is the way things were intended to be. I believe we are suppose to accept everyone for who they are and LOVE just the same... This was a my amalgamation of thoughts, forgive me if its unclear! BE BLESSED and you know what LAUGH it heals...

ReplyDeleteThere is most definitely a bias towards female homosexuals being less frowned upon than male homosexuals. This comes from mostly what you said, the history of male dominance over the human species. The flaw in that logic of course, is that every major society has had their share of equally displaced homosexuals. The difference today just being its gradual acceptance. So the men who are thinking this way, are simply trying to maintain a failed status quo, and are promoting a prejudice on a faulty foundation- they are generally the men who are homophobic and lean towards hating homosexuals without just cause.
Personally, I am a student of the Bible, and a servant of the God it teaches. The Bible condemns the practice of homosexuality, on ALL fronts. Despite what religious leaders are attempting to promote today, God's will is explicitly clear on this. (Leviticus 18:22 -- Romans 1:26, 27, 32 -- 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 -- Just 7)
As such, it does not mean that since I agree with the bibles view, that I hate the people who struggle with this *sin* in God's eyes, or that God has condemned these people to destruction. A very important scripture that explain that is
1 Corinthians 6:9-11:
"What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God."

Verse 9 and 10 highlight again that practicing homosexuals (as well as fornicators) will NOT inherit God's Kingdom, but then verse 11 says compassionately- "And yet that is what some of you were."
The bible is telling us clearly, that a person, who has practiced this lifestyle, even if for years, can change to practicing a lifestyle that *is* pleasing to God.
If that is how God views them, then we are obligated to do the same. Hence why I preach the same message to a person who professes to be a homosexual as I would to anyone else who is struggling with the other sins mentioned above and is unfamiliar with God's view on the matter.
John 3:16; 17:3 - God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son for you... but you are required to not simple "believe" in him and his son Christ Jesus, but they must exercise their faith in that belief, and make changes that will bring them to a place where they are pleasing God. Jehovah God HATES the act of homosexuality, but he does not hate the people. He wishes for them to come to an accurate knowledge of his will, and to do the things that are pleasing to him. (1 Timothy 2:3,4) Despite what men and women choose to say to the contrary.
Pretty bold statement in this day and age huh?... Yet and still.. The bible speaks for itself on this. Sadly, many have come to view the bible as just simply a story, with nice lessons in it, but NOT the Word of God... How sad that is, that the most reliable moral standard in the world, inspired by our Creator, who like the best parent in the Universe, has given us all the right guidelines to follow, it is being abandoned and out-rightly rejected...
